Rain or shine, Labour Day BBQ is always there thanks to Saskatoon & District Labour Council (SDLC).

Labour Day marks a time for Saskatchewan people to gather and proudly celebrate the hard-fought gains that the labour movement has delivered for working people in our province.

It is a time to honour all those who came before us and worked so hard to ensure protections for workers rights, and it is a time for us to commit to continuing to do this critical work.

Today, we find ourselves in a generational fight. There are pressures and forces working to roll back progress made. Donald trump’s tariffs pose an existential threat to the livelihoods of working people, to our economy, even our country.

Saskatchewan punches above its weight. We always have.

We’ve led the national way for workers rights before and we can do it again.

Solidarity, friends
