Dr. Darrin Oehlerking invited me to attend performances by Saskatchewan Winds and a Brass Quintet at the University of Saskatchewan for the launch of his new book, Winds of the North.

The book celebrates the history of Canadian Wind Band composers, conductors, musicians, and literature and we are so lucky to have such a knowledgeable, skilled, and self processed “biggest band nerd you’ll ever meet”.

So fortunate to have him on the University’s faculty and our next generation of musicians will benefit a great deal.

The bonus was to watch our Evergreen and talented colleague Darcy Warrington – MLA for Saskatoon Stonebridge playing different instruments on stage.

It was a great evening!
