Sikh Heritage Month

Sikh Heritage Month was celebrated at Saskatoon City Hall with Flag raising ceremony.

April is officially recognized as Sikh Heritage Month in Canada since 2019 celebrating the history, culture and contributions of the Sikh community.

Last year, Mr. Bhajan Brar, MLA from Regina Pasqua introduced a bill to officially recognize Sikh Heritage Month in Saskatchewan. The bill was passed unanimously in the Saskatchewan legislature on April 17, 2025. It was a historic moment in Saskatchewan. Thanks to our leader Carla Beck and all Saskatchewan MLAs for their support.

Sikh Heritage Month is about values, selfless service, equality for all, standing up for justice and protecting the vulnerable.

Very pleased to see many different community members and leaders joining together to celebrate this important event.

Happy Sikh Heritage Month!
